Dr Emma Cotterill
Chartered Clinical Psychologist
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with 10 + years experience working in the NHS and privately.
My aim is to support individuals to help them understand themselves and their difficulties. It is very important to understand the whole person, and their life and that we can look at ways to improve wellbeing in all areas of life.
I work to support young people and adults experiencing a range of mental health difficulties including: stress, depression, anxiety, panic, phobias, OCD, eating difficulties, trauma, and bereavement. I also work with adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and individuals who have suffered a Brain Injury and their families/carers.
Alongside clinical work I enjoys teaching, training, and academic writing. I am registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and Chartered with the British Psychological Society. I am registered with BUPA, AXA PPP, AVIVA and CIGNA Insurance companies to provide psychological therapy.
It is very important to me to be an empathic, supportive, thoughtful, creative, respectful, and dedicated Clinical Psychologist who works hard to support individuals and their families.
Outside of clinical work I enjoy fitness, including running, spinning and obstacle course races, music (I play saxophone, flute and piano and have toured in a jazz band), socialising, reading and family time.
