Dr Nadia Daer
I'm Nadia. I am a clinical psychologist registered with the HCPC. I currently work for the NHS as well as privately (online).
I’m passionate about creating a more equal and compassionate society and I believe that talking and effectively relating with another is often the key to unlocking change.
In my private work, I offer a safe and trusted space for us to think about whatever you have been struggling with and how to help you through it.
As a clinical psychologist, I am trained in a number of different therapeutic models which I use flexibly, depending on your needs and goals. I most commonly work with CBT, third wave and systemic models like Compassion Focused Therapy and Emotion Focused Family Therapy, and I often draw on psychodynamic ideas.
I regularly work with clients experiencing; Low mood; Anxiety; Eating difficulties; Complex trauma; Grief; Challenges in relationships; Work-related stress and more.
People from minority or marginalised communities sometimes find it hard to access or feel welcomed in therapy spaces. I aim to make the space one that is safe to discuss experiences of being othered or discriminated against.
Our first session is a chance for you to let me know what has been happening for you and what you would like help with, as well as for you to consider if my approach is what you are looking for. We can then discuss what length and type of therapy might work best for you, and we will review this at regular intervals.
